Data residency

1. Where data is stored

VegaCap cloud stores customer data in Mumbai, India. The database runs on PlanetScale PostgreSQL in the ap-south region and the application on Vercel. Backups are kept in the same region.

2. Deployment options

• VegaCap cloud is the default. Data stays in India and each organisation's data is scoped to its own account, branches and batches.
• Private cloud runs a dedicated instance in a region of your choice, with your own database and keys.
• On-premise runs the platform inside your own perimeter for organisations that require it. Scoped and priced per deployment.

3. Organisation boundaries

Every query on the platform is scoped to an organisation, and within it to a branch where branch scoping is enabled. Branch admins see their own branch. Head office sees every branch. No organisation can read another's data.

4. Offline field data

The field app stores assessments on the device until it syncs. Data on the device is protected by a PIN and removed after a successful sync.
